Submerged pump
Hi Folks,
Have switched my waterfall off for the cold spell and may keep it off for the winter. However, do I leave the pump in situ, or do I need to take it out of the pond if I leave it switched off for a long period?
Thanks,
Mark

Re: Answer replacement
Thanks - I'll have a look at the weekend. Just need to find something to support the matting.

Re: Answer replacement
Hi all, I have a Cloverleaf 3-chamber filter (Genesis). Could I add this matting to my first chamber (vortex) as shown in the pics? I also use (static) K3 in my final chamber and have some spare. If I was able to put the matting in the 1st chamber, could I use the K3 after the matting in the 1st cha...

I have an Elecro 3Kw on a 2500 gallon pond and have been keeping the temp about 14c. Not looking forward to the bill, but hey if we didn't want to spend the money in the first place...... Anyway, I was interested in the comment about plugging a 3Kw heater straight in. DON'T. Been there - if you do t...

I contacted Elecro yesterday and they got back to me very quickly. My unit is working as it should, but some suggestions they came up with made me think. I have a small waterfall, that is on between 0900 -1700. It isn't anymore. Also, for those of you that have seen the pics of my pond will know tha...

Hi Gazza, Does there come a point (temp wise) where the heater becomes useless, ie the temp drops below 10c? I thought that the idea was that the heater kept the water at the temp set (assuming that it is sufficient for the pond). If my 3KW cannot keep the temp of the water above 10c if the ambient ...

I am a little concerned re my heater. We have had several days now of temps at/slightlybelow/just above freezing. My current pond temp is between 12.4 to 12.7 (pond sensors) and 13.1 (Elecro reading). I have my temp set at 15.4 on the unit, but obviously the temp is not getting there. As previously ...

Thanks for your comments. I hope to improve the look in the spring. I was sat here this evening, watching the TV and this was the view I try not to think of the heat going into the atmosphere (Temp outside -2C and the pond temp 13.5C...

Hi Gazza, Gerry and Dave, Thanks for your comments. Looks as though it should be able to cope. Dave, been there with regard to the electrics. Had a previous, cheaper 3KW unit, which caused problems. Got some advice and found that my 13 amp system wasn't quite enough  Have now got it through a ...

Elecro 800
Hi everyone,
I have a small pond (compared to the rest of you
), about 2750 gals, and use an 800 Elecro stainless steel heater (3KW). I obtained the unit 2nd hand and obtained a manual from the 'net. However, does anyone know what size pond this can cope with?
Thanks,
Mark
