Re: pond building
Hi, Benched floors !!! do they work :? Ive had both and not poo anywhere, all to do with fish movement and airated drains in my eyes . I do think that you dont need benching to the drain , as flow and benching alone wont pull the poo any better than a flat bottom, as you only need to look in a vorte...

Re: Aquadyne vs Nexus - which to have next?
Hi, I would say with no bottom drain that you are deffo going to need a bead filter, i have 2x 4.4 aquadyne's and clarity if brilliant. I would say on your size of pond you could have a 2.2 with a 1/3 Artesian pump which runs about 330 watts :D Have a look at Koi waterlife's web site http://www.koi-...

Re: Shower Upgrade

The only thing i can think is that it was the media shedding continuosly

Mind you, the shower didnt have bhm, not sure if that would of been any different.
Seen a few ponds now with showers and IMOA none have good clarity

Re: Shower Upgrade
Gazza, No mate sold my shower as i found it to be the cause of my clarity issue;s (you know how gin i like it) Has it made a difference to the pond/koi . Not sure yet as it was taken offline at xmas time so pond not running full bore. Hoping that the Aquadyne will cope on its own :? sure it will.

Re: Shower Upgrade
Looks great Gazza, didnt take long did it So what's next then????? Bob, Whats next is the saving of the extra ££££ to put towards his gas bill, As you know when i had my shower it was incased in a near air tight insulated box, and i once did a test to see what sort of heat loss i was getting. In th...

Re: Advice on pond heating
Hi, do some reserach on heat pumps .
As you have no gas supply, might be the way to go
They say for every £1 spent you get £5 of heat

Re: Bead filters.
I would 100% recomend a sieve before a sieve if pulling water from a bottom drain. I have to say I think someeone may of been mis informed re sieve reducing flow. I think they are a great bit of kit. Fitted a few of these on pond builds in the past. If the customer wants a bead then I fit a sieve m...

Re: Advice please replacement for BADU TOP 14
Adrian, I would stick to the Badu top 14 as this pump is just perfect for a 4.4. I have a 4.4 and a while back had a funny 5 minutes and tried changing the badu for low wattage pumps but all that i got was murky water and am now back with the badu as this filter only seems to like pressure pumps :ro...

Having worked with kingspan, i think you will end up in a right old muss if you try pealing off the silver
