The space available is little bigger than the cartridge filter, so not a chance, must be hydro sized or I might squeeze a small sieve if enough opinions preferred that.

OK, whilst we're on this topic, I currently have a cartidge filter on my skimmer, flowing 2250 gph. Maintenance is high however and I'm seeking a neat solution, I don't have the room where the carrtridge filter is located for anything too big, so it has to be a Hydro type or a smallish sieve. The sk...

Hi, the idea is sound, offering a simple solution for variable and increased output. If you want to get the best recovery / production rates with the minimum waste water, running the two membranes in series is ideal, as this recovers a higher percentage relative to input. RO membranes are very diffi...

Hi Dave, there are a number of methods for ongoing control, I'll cover a couple and you can invent your own to add to the list of options devised by users. Hopefully others will put in their favourites, but the question is not as straight forward as it sounds, due to the huge differences possible in...

Duncan is apparently taking a break, so I would not wish to be the cause of any ill feeling in his absence, I think therefore some clarification may be required from me. Comments, observations and opinions expressed by myself are my own, not necessarily those of the board operators, it's agents or i...

Graham, I think I have to point out for the benefit of all that you are new to the forum, which partially explains why you are introducing stuff today that we discussed in some detail months ago. You're a naughty, lazy boy, you didn't read every related post in the archives did you?!! No really, I k...

I must have failed to provide sufficient clarification, or I misread your response John, so ill try again, others may benefit also. My offering assumes the application of common sense, we must understand at the onset that you can't join this ride halfway through. It's a ride from A to Z that has a s...

The question(s) you pose are actually quite complex, as the answers can vary with specific conditions. I would feel more comfortable with a scientific response by someone so qualified. I am not so qualified but do have a range of experiences apertaining, so will offer my simplistic thoughts, which w...

Gazza, while I think about it, I wonder if the lower PH thing is due to the system we both use? 3 membranes will increase the effects Duncan refers to in his related response earlier, re gasses etc? Secondly, another little experiment for you, I assume you have a decent UV unit, which like me you do...

Phew! I guess I should have factored in the shift effect before posting on that occasion Duncan, though I can say hand on heart my own comments to which you refer were meant in the best possible way. I took your original point precisely as you intended it, but had concerns that the more innocent mig...

Ah ha, so there is life on Mars! I suspected your understanding was a little above basic John, the point highlighted is not as obvious as you make it appear. Especially as I confess to not presenting the readings in the simplest manner! I have just added another media bay to the mix, so we'll see ho...
