Good thinking. I scoped most of it out thinking it was gritty slimy pooh (thanks terry) but some remains on the pump, so I will observe and see whether any baby Pooh's emerge.

If you are going to all that trouble alittle benching won't take much more time and its always worth it in the long run.

Moved some of my Sturgeon from their pond into my new QT (to get the filters going). Abit weird but I found some stuff a couple of days later (today) under the pump that could have been caviar. Its all in the insulation. No breaks, just keep wrapping it round.

One of my QT's in the garage is running off 2x 300W at around 24c without a struggle. A good cover does make a big difference.

If you've just fitted a shower and fluid bed in two days you must know what you're doing.
just get a load of roof insulation, some fish tank heaters and put a heat retaining cover on it (bubble rap if you're struggling).

I have used an adjustable hole cutter before. It was a very dangerous tools but did the job a treat.
It was blunt afterwards though!

Whatever you do, put a mask on. The dust is nasty.
